I bought these for my family to have some fun during the spring and summer. I was nervous about them getting punctured but when I received them I was so impressed with the quality. I have paddled the Columbia Slough several times and accidently went over a few snags with no problem. I paddled a few lakes without issue and went into the Columbia River. I would not recommend these for rivers – when a speedboat tore past they waves were freaky and I had a very hard time breaking away from the current. Lesson learned! Please stick to calm water in these kayaks. I am 5′ 9″ and I fit well as a passenger in the double seater. I bought the double seaters because my husband is 6′ 4″ and has very long legs – he is very comfortable in paddling solo in a double seater with one seat removed but has managed to cram in one with me. Set up is easy – deflating them is a bit of a pain but it’s not terrible. I am very excited to get out and explore more next year!
